SAFETY & SECURITY
Maintain Safe Vehicles & Control Access

OSHA issued over 3,478 citations for violation of their 1910.178 standard last year. Ensure that your facility is executing on safety best practices from I.D. Systems, to protect your operators, trucks and workplace.

  • Improve workplace safety, compliance and security
  • Create a safer environment with impact sensing and operator accountability
  • Use access control to prevent unauthorized or untrained operators from using vehicles
  • Leverage electronic safety checklists and pass the information directly to Maintenance
  • Automatically lock-out/tag-out unsafe equipment to prohibit use

What if OSHA came to your site today? Are you compliant with their standard for powered industrial vehicles?
Replace paper-based checklists with electronic checklists that create comprehensive records and reporting options

  • Ensure OSHA-mandated vehicle safety checklists are performed and recorded to identify operating conditions that compromise vehicle safety and adherence to regulatory statues.
  • If an operator does not complete a checklist, managers can be notified via report, email, or page.
  • Differentiate between problems with three severity levels, normal, warning and critical and create your own consequences. For example, if a critical problem is identified, like “brakes do not work” the vehicle can be automatically shut down to prevent use until the truck is repaired.
  • Customize checklists to collect not only regulatory questions, but also any other data you would like to capture.

How are you ensuring all industrial vehicles are driven by authorized and trained drivers, as required by OSHA?
Allow only authorized operators on your vehicles with access control and real-time visibility.

  • Operators must log into a vehicle via an ID number or security prox card, allowing only trained and authorized operators to start the vehicle.
  • Create groups of operators authorized to use individual vehicles or fleets of a certain type of vehicle. Information can be updated anytime and relayed to the vehicles in real-time without manual intervention.
  • Controlling vehicle access keeps your vehicles where they are assigned.
  • Locate vehicles and operators on a map of your warehouse or plant—in real-time.
  • Associate all vehicle activity with a specific operator, including real-time location and movement history.
  • Integrate an automatic feed from an existing personnel database so operators are automatically entered and personnel records are always accurate.
  • Safeguard against the network going down and impacting operations. Each vehicle’s technology is individually intelligent and will continue to enforce operator access and store relevant data until the network is available for transmission.

Can you currently prevent operators from driving vehicles with known repair or safety issues?
Remotely lock out unsafe GSE vehicles due to repair problems or expired certifications

  • Wirelessly lock-out vehicles that are unsafe to drive and only allow access by maintenance or management.
  • Automatically require supervisor intervention for “unsafe” vehicle conditions.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and notify operators to bring vehicles in via text message.
  • Obtain automatic notification of imminent certification expirations and schedule training accordingly.
  • Automatically disable operator access when their license or training certification is expired.

Can you account for damage to forklifts, industrial vehicles and your facility?
Detect impacts and speeding to manage and reduce damage costs

  • Create accountability by identifying and managing destructive driving behaviors.
  • View real-time vehicle issues via the Management Console, including over-speeding, restricted zone violation, impacts and more.
  • Eliminate anonymous damage to vehicles and your warehouse or plant by seeing the “who, what, where, when” of an impact.
  • Record forces exerted on a vehicle via an impact sensor and kick off your preferred safety procedures.
  • Impact sensing is set automatically on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis to minimize false impact alarms.
  • Monitor vehicle speed and automatically limit over-speeding.
  • Restrict entry into secure areas—such as aisles with small, high-value merchandise—and tracking authorized entries to improve asset protection.
